Jenny Velasquez has been singing and writing her own music since the age of 13 and has been on a journey of musical discovery ever since. Jenny spent most of her teenage years recording with production company Full Crew (Craig David, East 17, Samantha Mumba) before flying off to New Jersey, USA to work with Producer Bobby Reese (Whitney Houston, Blu Cantrell, Ice Cube) achieving priceless experience.
Unsurprisingly, Jenny's stunning looks drew interest from a number of modelling agencies, and she started to pursue a career as a model, which led to Jenny winning "Miss Greater London". She then went on to compete in Miss England 2005 finishing 5th overall and securing a place in Miss Great Britain 2006. That summer saw the collaboration of Jenny and four other Miss England contestants to make the first Miss England Girl Band, recording 'Come on England (Time for Glory)' for release during the FIFA World Cup 2006.
In 2007, Jenny was chosen to appear in a promo for former Curiosity Killed The Cat singer Ben Volpierre-Pierott. The promo's production company learned of Jenny's vocal abilities and invited Jenny to record a demo for their management arm. Jenny's talent was immediately evident and in 2009, the track, "Hang Around For The Summer", was recorded and produced by Euro dance specialist, Robert De Fresnes.
In April this year, Jenny made the video for Hang Around For The Summer on location in Ibiza and as part of the filming performed the song in Ibiza super club Es Paradis. Needless to say, the track went down an absolute storm, with fans clamouring for autographs and pictures.
Jenny Velasquez "Hang Around For The Summer" ticks all the boxes and is set to be a summer anthem for 2010. |
